Ilayathalapathy Vijay is under tremendous pressure from the powerful distributors and theatres lobby in Tamil Nadu.
An emergency meeting of the theatres association is going to be held today (May 22) in Chennai.
A spokesperson of the Chengalpet-Kanchipuram Theatre association said: “ All recent Vijay films including the latest Sura have been failures. We have lost crores paying MG’s in screening Azhagiya Thamizh Magan, Kuruvi, Villu, Vettaikkaran and now Sura, which is a washout”.
Now they want Vijay to do a film for the trade to compensate the losses they incurred by screening his films.
The spokesperson made it clear that they want Vijay to do it free otherwise they will issue a red card against the star and also boycott his films in future.
